Above le Cosy on the 3rd floor this apartment will surprise you by the space, the high ceiling and abundance of light.
This is rare in the centre of Honfleur which has so many small cottages and fishermen’s houses.
These are charming of course and the very essence of the town but they do have small rooms with low ceilings.
And are a bit dark. Here, none of this.
This is a refuge from the busy Honfleur streets.
On one side 3 large windows overlook the roofs of the old town above a quiet courtyard,
on the other you can peer back down the alley from two more.
Thanks to these windows the appartment is bathed in light, you will never have the impression that it is gray, a plus in Normandy !
The impressive timber framed pitched roof and colombage is lightened
with a wash of pale grey paint bringing clarity and modernity to the space
The living dining and kitchen are open plan. The beautiful sitting area takes pride of place with two comfortable sofas and meridians, for relaxing or watching TV. Further along is the dining area which features a high table and chairs allowing you to take in the view of the apse of the church of Sainte-Catherine, the roofs of the houses of the old port and the Normandy bridge whilst eating breakfast !
A bar separates the living area from the kitchen, equipped with a La Cornue cooker which will delight those who have a passion for cooking (See www.lacornue.com)
At each end of the apartment are located the 2 bedrooms, each overlooking the alley and whose typical Normandy timbers have been softened with light colouring without taking anything away from their traditional look.
The bedroom located at the entrance of the apartment is decorated in blue tones and can be made up as a double room or with 2 single beds. Let us now what your preferences are.
The 2nd bedroom is more spacious, its grays greens making for a soft and romantic atmosphere. It has a queen size double bed.
In both rooms, you can notice that the tiles are darker than in the living room – a reminder of the days when tobacco leaves were dried here in the 18th century. But your feet are now cushioned with warm rugs.
These bed rooms are exclusively for two people, there being no space for extra beds.
The shared shower room and separate toilet are tucked down at the far end of the room.
